What's wrong with this picture?

I just got my new wet suit in for surfing....bad timing I know but it's a long story. Well, I'll be ready for the Spring storms that we have here on the Lake.

The stuff I think about.....

Sunday fun with Brett

Brett Davis surprised me by showing up on his bike....lucky for me I was just getting ready to head out the door on the Ritchey Ti for a 1.5-2 hr ride in the valley. We stopped in Peninsula to see Anna's shop and where Fast Track Cycling is going to have an office. We rode past Peninsula and split up at Fitzwater & Riverview.....My bike is making a lot of noise....looks like 'cross season took it's toll and it's time to show it some luv.....hello Bike Authority?

It's sad to say that my legs are dead after only two short rides....the horror, the horror.

1:48 time
134 avg/173 max
26.5 miles
16.4 avg/40.3 max
1300' of climbing

Time to go....thanks for reading,
Rick

rid'n the SISS

Rode the Bianchi yesterday on the tow path from my house. Love the sun even if it was pretty dang cold. The new SBR thermal jacket was awesome though, only had a long sleeve tech shirt under neigh it and was warm!

The tow path was snow covered and was either hard packed and REAL bumpy or 3" of untracked snow in places. The unpacked was smoother but required more effort, but the hard packed was so rough that I would have like my 'Zokey front suspended fork on the Bianchi.

The 1 hr ride on the SISS with the iPod was just the break I needed.

hr - avg 143/max 165
12.7 miles
speed - 12.3 avg/32.8 max
temp - 31'-36'F
460' of climbing

Have a good weekend and thanks for reading,
Rick

A Winter Wonderland

After traveling (driving) all week on business, the last thing I wanted to do was to hop in the car and drive to race in the frosty toes. Congrats to the guys that did go.
Gary, Sadie & I decided to take SS bikes out on the tow path for a couple of hours.

True to form, Satan & Gary arrive 40+ minutes late (note to self - say a hour b/f the actual ride and they should be on time).
:-)
They arrive with 'Cross bikes instead of Single Speeds and Gary still has his training slicks on his bike. More on that later.
Great sunny weather and when we get to the trail, it's covered in snow, some hard pack and some soft messy stuff. Gary is suffering like a dog trying to keep the forward momentum going forward. It hurt just to watch him. Sadie was having trouble going through it also on the 'cross bike so we switched bikes and I let her use the Bianchi SISS while I rode her C-Dale Cross bike.
Instead of putting Gary through 6 more miles of hell, we decided to ride back via Riverview Road and switch back bikes. Let's just say that the next 8 + miles of climbing up the hills on the way back to Brecksville hurt on the single speed. 32/16 was how I was roll'n on 2.4 tires.
:-)

Steaks and Liter Glasses of Heine Lite was our treat when we got back.

18+ miles total, almost 2 hours of riding....

Rick

Titus Modena Frame/Fork for Sale

Due to my recent purchase of my Cervelo R3 from the Bike Authority; I'll need to let go of my Titus Modena 54cm frame and fork (NO HEADSET unless you want to add $100.00 for da' King).
Titus does not make this model anymore but here is some info on it. It was going for $1,300.00-1,500.00 and I got it on sale in May of last year. When built out it weighs around 18.5 lbs. Stiff bottom bracket, great ride; great for training/racing on.
Will show it here for awhile and then eBay it. Would be willing to sell it for less locally.

Any questions, contact me at rnadamsii@gmail.com.

Yesterday's Ride

I was able to go out yesterday for a quick ride. 1:10.13, 20.3 miles, 144 avg hr with a 169 max hr, 42-45'F, 1160 ft of climbing.
Was just in Peninsula and the rain started to fall, so that's when I turned around; the closer I got back to B-ville the nicer it became.....
Did I say how much I was digging these fenders?
:-)

Oh, I'm putting together a Ritchey SBR order soon....Seat, Stem(?), wheels(?) for me.

Thanks for Reading,
Rick

quickie update

I did get out yesterday with the Ritchey Ti (w/fenders).....anything over 40'F this time of year is a heat wave and even in the rain, it was a good 20 mile quick ride.
I'm hoping for a road trip on V-Day next week to Louisville for business and hopfully get some miles in better weather?

The new SBR kits will be shipping next week; I'll shoot some photos of some of the team in them...the proofs don't do them justice. Thanks, Donny!

The Oakley order is being reviewed by the rep. and should be entered shortly.

The Giro Team Rabobank Ionos order will be going in to the Bike Authority by the end of the month.

I had a Conconni Test done at Bike Authority by Sean Gilbert Monday; 300 watts and 159 bpm is my Lactate Threshold....380 watts is my PT....Puke Threshold. :-(
Just kidding, I'm looking forward to a more structured training program this season; if that's possible with my travel schedule, but I'm giving it a go.

The Velodrome is moving along great; we had an interesting board meeting last night and should have some good things happening in the next 30 days or so.

Looks like any training this weekend will be on the rollers/trainer.

Have a good week/weekend all.
